Atlanta Stop Flooding Us Coalition

Atlanta community, we need your voice. Take action and sign the petition to protect communities from flooding!

After heavy rains, Northwest Atlanta neighborhoods flood with polluted water and sewage. We need the City to take action! Our coalition is building power to stop dirty water from rushing into downstream neighborhoods, and the community has already shaped a stormwater plan to protect themselves. We need your voice to appeal to the Mayor and City Council to adopt a stormwater plan that keeps residents safe and healthy.

“We’re trying to combat the water. We’re trying to live with the water.” In Atlanta’s Hunter Hills, Michael Cooper has watched storms flood the AU Center dorms, Central Methodist Church, and his neighbors’ homes. Families are left dealing with damage long after the rain stops. That’s why residents are pushing the City to capture 36 million gallons of stormwater in The Gulch to protect homes, schools, and streets and make Atlanta safer for everyone.
