Safer Online Standards (S.O.S.) Empower Parents with Clear, Expert-Backed Ratings for Youth Online Safety

The Mental Health Coalition is launching Safer Online Standards (S.O.S.), the world's first evidence-based rating system to help parents navigate their children's online safety. For years, parents have had to rely on platform promises and sensational headlines to understand whether the apps and websites their teens use are safe. S.O.S. changes that by offering transparent, expert-developed ratings built on 24 standards across five key areas.

As part of our effort to get these important tools in front of parents nationwide, we have developed graphics and messaging resources highlighting how S.O.S. ratings work and why they matter. We are asking parents like you, partner organizations, schools, and community groups to join us in sharing these resources with your networks online.
