In one generation, the cost of undergrad tuition has more than DOUBLED. Meanwhile the cost of living has gone up 69%.
What we need is affordable college and university – and instead Canada’s getting tuition fees that are outpacing inflation.
Canada is in the middle of an affordability crisis.
High tuition fees are just one more financial barrier standing between young Canadians and unlocking their potential.
In Canada, academic freedom is a professional right.
When academic staff no longer have the freedom to teach, it’s a direct threat to academic freedom.

Canada’s universities and colleges are too reliant on precarious employment.
Students rely on their teachers, and they deserve fair working conditions. Our country’s future relies on colleges and universities. They should be well-funded and strong.

For decades, tuition fees have increased at a faster pace than government funding.
Now more than ever, we need governments to invest in our universities and colleges to help support Canada’s future.
Canadians deserve access to high-quality post-secondary education and all the benefits that come along with it.
That education should be affordable for everyone.
I teach students each semester in on top of research and administrative duties.
My workload shouldn’t keep students from getting students the education they deserve.
