➡️ What is Marit Stiles’ Save OSAP Campaign?
When Doug Ford gutted OSAP grants and introduced tuition hikes, Marit Stiles and the Ontario NDP fought back immediately.
On the first day back in the legislature, Marit Stiles, Leader of the Official Opposition, called for a vote to reverse Ford’s cuts. It was shut down.
The next day, hundreds of students showed up at Queen’s Park to protest. Marit Stiles challenged Doug Ford to come to the lawn and face them directly. He didn’t show up.
So she forced another vote – this time putting every Conservative MPP on the record. 60 Conservative MPPs voted NO to reverse the cuts and eliminate interest on student loans. Doug Ford and the rest of his Conservative caucus didn’t even show up to vote.
The Ontario NDP believes post-secondary education should be affordable and accessible for everyone. That means tuition supports for low-income families, extended grace periods for loan repayment, converting loans to grants, and increasing per-student funding across the board.
The fight to Save OSAP continues — because no student should have to choose between an education and a lifetime of debt.
Take action at SaveOSAP.ca and stand with students and families across Ontario who deserve a government that lets them get ahead.

These are the Conservative MPPs who voted to bury students in debt. Doug Ford and 16 others didn't even bother to show up.
Remember their faces. Remember what they chose.
Marit Stiles and our Ontario NDP caucus are not done fighting to reverse the cuts to OSAP and make education affordable and accessible for everyone.

I’m sharing this because more people need to understand what’s happening to student aid in Ontario.
Doug Ford is lifting the tuition freeze and gutting OSAP grants — slashing grant funding from up to 85% down to just 25% and forcing the rest into loans.
That means students will pay more to get in and graduate with tens of thousands more in debt.
Add your name: SaveOSAP.ca and call on Doug Ford to reverse these cuts.
I’m speaking up because students deserve better.
Doug Ford’s OSAP cuts mean fewer grants, more loans, and higher debt.
Students are paying more to get in — and leaving with even more to pay back.
