It’s always a good time to think about how we can make next year better for our kids.

Looking at the entire year like this really puts things into perspective. Bigger classes, funding cuts, and not enough supports for our kids. Next year needs to be better.

Hard not to feel uneasy about this. EQAO is meant to support student learning, but these newly-appointed advisors are right-wing insiders with no classroom experience. No more meddling. Let’s put kids first.

It’s pretty clear what years of underfunding has led to. Bigger class sizes, kids waiting too long for supports, and schools trying to do more with less. We need real investment in public education.

I didn’t realize how much had been cut from my kids’ school until I saw the Education Cuts Tracker. Over $3,000 per student since 2018 adds up fast at the school level. Let’s do what Minister Calandra asked and hold him accountable.

It’s not complicated. Our kids need smaller class sizes so they can get the support and attention they deserve.
