100,000 Maasai lose the right to vote! The Tanzanian government has removed the Ngorongoro division from their voter registry, denying voting rights to any Maasai pastoralists who live there. This is yet another tactical move to forcibly evict hundreds of thousands of Maasai people from their ancestral lands.

For years, luxury tourism company Thomson Safaris has tried to solidify their claims over Indigenous Maasai land in Tanzania by taking advantage of governmental oppression and abuse. The costs have been immense: ➡️ Over 70,000 Maasai have lost access to dry-season grazing land critical to their livestock and livelihoods. ➡️ Dozens of villagers have been wounded, arrested, or forced into hiding during crackdowns by the Tanzanian security forces. ➡️ A number of children were allegedly beaten by Thomson Safari guides in 2022.
