Speak Up for the Pittsburgh Elephants

Angeline, Savanna, Tasha, Victoria, and Zuri have been held captive for decades—some of them, all their life—by the Pittsburgh Zoo in conditions that cannot meet their complex physical, psychological, and social needs. The time for their freedom is now.

Please join us in speaking up for their freedom and their right to liberty.

Use the posts below to share why you support the Pittsburgh elephants’ freedom and release to sanctuary.

Angeline, Savanna, Tasha, Victoria, and Zuri have spent decades confined in conditions that cannot meet their complex biological needs. That’s why I’m joining the Nonhuman Rights Project’s Week of Action to advocate for their freedom and release to sanctuary. If the elephants at the Pittsburgh Zoo could hear us, I’d want them to know they’re not alone. Join me in calling for their freedom and learn more about these elephants.

I just took action to support the release of the Pittsburgh Zoo elephants to a sanctuary. Angeline, Savanna, Tasha, Victoria, and Zuri deserve freedom, peace and dignity—not a lifetime of suffering in captivity. Join me in speaking up to #FreeThePittsburghElephants.

I support Angeline, Savanna, Tasha, Victoria, and Zuri’s right to liberty. Elephants are cognitive, emotionally, and socially complex beings. Scientific evidence shows that they suffer profoundly in captivity. Help me raise awareness of their suffering and urge the Pittsburgh Zoo to release these elephants to a sanctuary.

If the elephants at the Pittsburgh Zoo could hear us, I would want them to know they are not alone. Angeline, Savanna, Tasha, Victoria, and Zuri have suffered long enough. It’s time the Pittsburgh Zoo do what’s right, and #FreethePittsburghElephants. This week, join me and thousands of others who are taking action to help secure their freedom and release to a sanctuary.
