Despite the deteriorating security situation around the world, the TPNW is the bright spot for peace and disarmament- and we can turn back the clock- but we can't do it alone. Join ICAN to help change course @icanw.org #DoomsdayClock
5 years ago today, the world took a stand for a safer future. Happy entry into force anniversary to the #NuclearBan Treaty! Today, as we celebrate the strides made towards a safer world, we also celebrate our advocacy for disarmament and our contribution to a global movement for lasting peace!
Celebrating 5 years of hope and progress! Today marks the anniversary of the entry into force of the #NuclearBan. Together, we're taking a crucial step towards a world free from the threat of nuclear devastation. Here is why I am advocate for peace, disarmament, and a safer future for all.
The #TPNW means nuclear weapons are illegal, illegitimate, & indefensible. It has:
✔️ Banned nuclear threats 🚫
✔️ Centred nuclear justice ⚖️
✔️ Cut financial support 💰
✔️ United people to say: #NuclearBan forever. 👥
This year, on the 80th anniversary of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, we honour the hibakusha and all nuclear weapons survivors by holding their stories close and carrying their legacy forward.
📄 Adopt a story. Fold a paper crane. Hold their memory in your hands.
By sharing your crane, you help ensure their courage, their pain, and their call for a nuclear-free world are never forgotten. #NuclearBan #HoldTheMemory #Hiroshima80 #Nagasaki80
The hibakusha from Hiroshima, Nagasaki, and all nuclear weapons survivors are entrusting us with their stories. We must ensure their memories do not fade. By holding their memory, we carry their fight forward.

As long as nuclear weapons are around, everything I love is at risk. That's why I support ICAN, the global movement working with governments, elected officials, int'l organisations and everyone who wants to help get rid of these weapons forever. Check them out-
"Some people were burned, some were injured, some had babies in their arms, some couldn't walk, and some were lying there…" Rumi Hanagaki was five when the US dropped a nuclear bomb on Hiroshima. She works to make sure these stories are not forgotten.
Did you know the first nuclear weapon blew up in New Mexico? People were thrown from their beds & radioactive ash fell for days. Now nuclear weapons are banned, and every country needs to get rid of them. Help make it happen. #nuclearban
Two-year-old Kimino (left) and five-year-old Hirono (right) were killed by the nuclear attack on Hiroshima. Their story, and many others can be found on the Children's Peace Memorial. 80 years later, we must remember so we don't repeat this horror again.
80 years ago, nuclear bombs killed more than 38,000 children in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Their lives were cut short, their futures stolen.
This new memorial remembers them.

I just folded my crane to carry the memory of a nuclear survivor. Their story stays with me. 📄🕊 I’m sharing it so their legacy lives on. #NuclearBan #CranesofMemory
