Thank you to our Colorado voters for standing up against Amendment 82! Amendment 82 would enshrine natural gas monopolies in our state’s constitution. We already have the right to use natural gas as consumers; this is unnecessary and sets a dangerous precedent for the power of corporate polluters. #NoOn82 #VoteNo82 #NoPollutionInTheConstitution

Thank you to Kasey Butcher Santana for sharing your story and perspective as a Colorado consumer during Wednesday’s event! Amendment 82 threatens to impact communities with price hikes and pollution. Coloradans deserve better. Vote no on Amendment 82! #NoOn82 #VoteNo82 #NoPollutionInTheConstitution

Dr. Simona Martin, a Colorado pediatrician, voiced her deep concern for Amendment 82 from a medical perspective in a recent Op-Ed to the Colorado Sun. “Pollution caused by the oil and gas industry has been directly tied to a number of adverse health outcomes. With respect to fracking, a method of extracting natural gas, the research is concerning.” “Studies have shown that individuals with asthma who live close to a fracking well have increased rates of asthma attacks. Pregnant mothers living within a few miles of fracking sites have higher rates of premature delivery, which itself is a risk factor for lung disease for kids.” “Fracking pollutes our water too. We are only now beginning to understand the health effects of drinking groundwater contaminated by the chemicals used in fracking for natural gas. Evolving research suggests a possible link between some childhood cancers and living near fracking wells.” Colorado communities deserve better! Vote NO on 82! #NoOn82 #VoteNo82 #NoPollutionInTheConstitution

At last Wednesday’s press conference, we heard from legal expert K.K. DuVivier. Professor DuVivier has won numerous awards for her teaching and research at the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law. As part of her remarks during the conference, DuVivier highlighted the direct pipeline between data centers and the passage of Amendment 82. “If you don't like paying for the extra hook-up costs of data centers, you should vote no on Amendment 82.” Voting NO on Amendment 82 helps protect consumers from being subject to these hidden costs of the natural gas industry. #NoOn82 #VoteNo82 #NoPollutionInTheConstitution

At last week’s press event, we also heard from Sara Carpenter. Carpenter, a retired pediatrician and head of Healthy Air and Water Colorado, notes that: “In the long run, Amendment 82 would limit our choices. We would never practice medicine that way—because it would stifle innovation.” To protect the interests of Colorado communities over corporate polluters, vote NO on Amendment 82! #NoOn82 #VoteNo82 #NoPollutionInTheConstitution

Amendment 82 is a permanent, radical change to our state constitution that gives corporate polluters unprecedented power over our communities. Vote #NoOn82 #NoPollutionInTheConstitution #COPolitics @voteno82

Sandra, with Colorado 350, here to remind everyone that, "Amendment 82 has the potential to weaken existing environmental protections in state or local laws. These are protections that Coloradans depend on to limit unnecessary water pollution and fracking operations across the state.” The right to natural gas already exists in Colorado. This is about our right to regulate pollution in the spaces we depend on for clean resources. #VoteNo82 #NoOn82 #NoPollutionInTheConstitution

It might be "cuffing season," but that doesn't mean you need a permanent relationship with toxic corporate polluters. #NoOn82 #NoPollutionInTheConstitution #COPolitics
